Black & White

The other day I was checking out Kristina Werner's blog and got so inspired by her Friday Focus Birthday Card #8.

This card made me think of the amazing Online Card Class Clean & Simple Card Making 2 I took in January this year. It was my first try at this kind of Online courses and I can totally recomend it. It's addictive :o)

One of the Clean & Simple 2 class lessons was about not being afraid of black in combination with One Layer Cards. And this lesson gave me some grief. Couldn't quite get the hang of it and with very little success.

But the Friday Focus card from Kristina's blog gave me a little kick in the b.... and I thought I'd give it a go again. The worst that could happen was a little extra card stock for the bin *LOL*.

I ended up making two cards.....and this is the result.....

(This card is my favorite of the two)

I added little dots of Ranger's "Glossy Accents" to the flowers to give the card a little texture and dimension.

Here I've only used embossing powder to give the card dimension. A very, very clean & simple card. After I made this card I was so undecided about adding just a little bit of colour to the card. But then I told myself to STOP! One thing to learn about Clean & Simple cards is to stop and not over-do it.

Hope you got a little tiny bit inspired. Inspiration is a great part of this card making craft....enjoy :o)

  1. Fantastic cards.
I'm not good using black as base. Thinks it looks like condolence cards.
But - in the way you did it - it's beautiful.

  2. Tak for din søde kommentar hos mig.
