Spread Your Wings........like a Butterfly

Today I wanted to try something out with double sided tape sheets and glitter. I (like many other) have the Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly punch. Gorgeous punch!

I wanted to see if it was possible to use coloured card stock, double sided tape and glitter in one go. And it was!

This is the card.....

The sentiment is made using Fawn Lawn's alphabet stamp set.

This is how I did it:
First I cut out a piece of pink card stock. Then I cut a piece in the exact same size of the double sided tape sheet. I took off one side of the tape sheet and adhered it to the front of the pink piece. Reason is that I wanted the pink colour to show through the glitter.

Now the piece is ready to punch out the butterfly. Take the butterfly and use liquid glue to put it on the card front - BUT without removing the last side of the tape sheet.
When the glue is dry it is possible to carefully remove the last side of the tape sheet. And it is ready to be poured with glitter.

I have found that the remaining glitter is easier to remove from the card front if I have used the powder tool beforehand - as if you wanted to heat emboss.

With this card I am participating in Addicted to CAS's Challenge with code word
"Take Flight"
and
in CASology's Challenge with cue word "Free"
and
in Simon Says Stamp's Challenge with the theme "Anything Goes"

Thanks for taking a peek. I hope you are enjoying the weekend :o)

  7. Rigtig flot sommerfugl - og flot kort i al sin enkelhed. Det er jo tit det sværeste at få til at se fint ud.
