Elegant Wedding Card in White & Gold

At noon today a couple of our dear friends are getting married.

At this exact moment I'll be standing on a green horse field among the other guests and witness the wedding. Haven't quite yet figured out what shoes to wear!! The weather forecast looks very promising so we probably will not need the rubber boots and the umbrella.

I had the honour of making the wedding invitations, which you can see HERE. It was a specific request that the invitations included a tree. So I had no doubts that this tree should also be on their gift card.

I am very much happy with the final result of this card. I even decorated the inside of the card, which I normally don't do.

I actually wrapped the gift first and let that inspire my for the gift card.

The tree is cut out of the gold gift wrapping paper. As wrapping paper can be very tricky to work with I first glued the paper onto a piece of scrap paper. This way it was much easier to handle.

The sentiment and banner is from SimonSaysStamp.
I have gold embossed the sentiment, so that it matches perfectly with the rest of the card.

On purpose I kept the card very clean & simple (as I prefer)

For the gift wrapping I first used white wrapping paper. Then I cut a border of the gold wrapping paper. Before using it I die-cut several sizes of heart out to make my own pattern and let the white paper shine through. Then I wrapped it around the gift. This looks so pretty and very suited for a wedding present.

Inside the card I drew two frames with a gold pen using the two largest Sizzix steel dies as template. I also used two of the hearts which I had die-cut out of the gold gift wrapping paper.

On the photo below you can see a little bit of the inside of the card.

 Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.
I certainly will!

  3. Looking good and perfect for a wedding gift indeed. Your shoe dilemma makes me think of Pretty woman - don't pick the pair with high heels - you might sink in when standing in one spot. )giggle)
Thanks for the OSH cards - lovely as always and a joy to find in the middle of bills and papers when returning from holidays. =0)
