Experimenting with paper folds on cards

Sometimes you just have to play & play with paper to see what you can make out of it. This is what I did with this card.

I basically had an idea, but didn't know if it would actually work IRL. So there was nothing else to do than test it. And test I did indeed.

In the third go I finally got the result I was looking for and here it is.....

The white paper (a little thicker than normal printer paper) has been folded repeatedly. I scored the paper at 1 inch and ½ inch and then again at 1 inch and ½ inch.

Then I folded the paper and kept it folded by using repositionable tape on the back side. This made is possible to stamp with the background stamp.

After stamping the background I ran the paper through the Big Shot with the letter dies for "HEY". I found out that you have to be careful where you place the letter dies on the folds. Especially the "E" can be tricky.

As a last little touch I added 3D squares in all the folds to make sure they wouldn't flat out.

To each side of the folded paper piece I adhered stripes of coloured card stock. I also adhered pieces of coloured card stock on the back behind every die-cut letter.

Then I adhered the whole thing to the card base. The last little touch of the card is the talk bubble where I have heat embossed the sentiment.
