The Masking continues....

...on Day 2 at the Mask-erade class with Onlinecardclasses.com.

Today I went for a card inspired by teacher Shari Carroll, where a large die is used to create the mask. This combined with a background stamp or other stamps makes it possible to create your own custom stamp.

When creating this card I had The Danish Operation Write Home in mind. One layer and few embellishments makes it perfect for this.

I know I have said it before, but I am a huge fan of the sharp contrast between a solid black sentiment block and delicate colours. Here I have combined stamps from 3 different stamp sets to create this sentiment.

For the stamping of the heart I must admit I used the traditional way of using masking paper and not the way Shari did it in today's class. I tried Shari's way first but the ink soaked through my mask and it was a total mess.

A weeks vacation certainly pays off when it happens at the same time as an OnlineCardClasses.com class :o)
YAY....loads of crafting fun!

With this card I am participating in:

  11. Beautiful card and great use of the technique we learned in class. How did you get the lettering on the banners to match the damask background. It looks like the words were die cut and you are seeing through to the heart behind it but I assume that is an illusion. Oh wait, I just figured it out. It's only one layer and the stamp is stamping just the black part!! Very nice! Will need to order some stamps like that!
