Yesterday was Day 2 at the Holiday Card Workshop 2013 and now I finally managed to get my hands dirty and try out a couple of the techniques shown.
For my card I have used a simple version of the "layered die-cut inlay" technique and the "suspended die-cuts" technique.
The orange frame is a "die-cut inlay" and the sentiment is floating in the air 'cause of the suspended die-cut technique.
My most favorite part of this card is the "MAS" word. Look how I have managed to get the partly glitter look on the letters. It looks as if the glitter is falling like snow.
I played with heat embossing the other day and these letters are cut out of the leftover card stock.
Because of the window on the front of the card it would be a shame to write the greeting so it would be visible. I have therefore added and extra layer inside the card.
The blue dotted piece of card stock can be lifted up. I have rounded the corners so it is more obvious that the card holds an extra layer.
Look! Plenty of space to write a looooong Christmas greeting.
That's all for today. Enjoy your evening.
