25 Years Work Anniversary | Create A Smile | Avery Elle | Masculine Card

For hubby I always make an exception when it comes to special order for cards. Today is a card he needed for one of his employees 25th work anniversary. It's already been a while since the card was given, so it is safe to share now. 

For this card I went with bold and bright colours. I must admit that the Catherine Pooler inks are fabulous and that there is absolutely no need for re-stamping. The ink gives so good coverage in the first go. 

For the "fireworks" I have used a stamp set from German Create A Smile Stamps. Love their style and that they design nested dies perfect for the European standard card size A6.

For the sentiment I have combined three brands - US Avery Elle, Danish Three Scoops and Danish Gittes Eget Design.

I love to mix and match brands when making cards. I find it gives so many possibilities in the creative process.

I did really try not to make this card to "girlie" but hubby did say it was received with joy - as well as the gift basket.

Donation Cards | Easy Simple Cards using Paper Strips | Danish Operation Write Home |

Lots of pictures and cards - so don't say I didn't warn you. 

I help out the Danish organisation "Operation Skriv Hjem" which is the Danish equvilant to the American Operation Write Home.

I help with creating inspiration cards for their blog, with the monthly Christmas card inspiration on the 24th and I also make cards for donation. This blogpost is about a bunch of donation cards I made with lots of paper scraps.

A combination of black/yellow/orange scraps.
The danish sentiment means "with love".

Here I have prepared some piles of paper strips which I have tried to colour match.

And above a pic of some of the finished cards which was created out of old bits and pieces.

I had a little scrap party going with myself while making all of these cards :) 
Hubby was not home so I had the home office to myself - wuhuu - loud music, a glass of white wine and this! A floedebolle from Spangsberg! Yum, yum!

A few more close up's - here the Danish sentiment means "Hugs & Hugs".

This sentiment needs no translation :)

And lastly - one more with the sentiment "With love".

When making cards for deployed soldiers there are quite a few things to bear in mind. Below I have just listed a few of the most important ones:

# No glitter! At least not glitter which can rub off on their hands and skin. A little piece of glitter might make them visible in a snipers sight.
# No sentiment with "can't wait to see you" or something similar. It does unfortunately happen that our soldiers don't make it home. 
# No splatter or mist on the cards. It can look too much like blood splatter, so not a good idea.
# Not too many layers. The cards must first be sent out to the deployeed soldiers and then back again. Therefore "slim" cards are much better for such postal endevours.

If you are not already donating some of your handmade cards I highly recommend you to try and find out what possibilities you have in your community.

Mandala Maker | Congrats | Tillykke | Gina K. Designs

I really like it when the focus of the card is off center. This is something I often go for when creating cards. 

Her I have again used the Mandala Maker stamp set from Gina K. Designs. Such a lovely set! It's primarily intented to be used with the Wreath Builder Tool. But I don't have the Wreath Builder Tool. This card is done by hand using an acrylic block.

This card is a DT project for the Danish craft webshop Hobbyboden.dk

In the circular shape I have hand stamped all the little black dots. There is a dot in the stamp set which had a perfect fit. It's not a 100% perfect but hey, neither am I ;)

I love how crips my stamping gets when using VersaFine Onyx Black. Yummy!

The sentiment is Danish and means Congrats/Congratulations.

I really like how the purple colour gets a chance to shine and get all the attention.
