Stencil Technique with Texture Paste and Distress Ink + VIDEO

I love when different mediums reacts differently with other mediums. Today I want to share exactly how cool an effect you can get by combining Ranger Texture Paste and Distress Ink.

Distress Inks works really well with waterbased mediums. Here on my card I get this cool look where the stars takes up a bit of colour from the dark blue Distress Ink.

I made this project as DT member for the Danish online store Hobbyboden. And also made a video of how to do this.

I have added some extra stars in vellum to give the card more interest and to pop-up the sentiment strip.

This first card is rather masculine in style, which is why I also made a more feminine version of this card.

Who doesn't love some polkadots :)

Just see, the effect is the same here. The dots have taken up some of the colour from the Distress Ink.

 Have a marvelous day :)

Operation Write Home #4 Fif Fusion + Video

This is a card and video created for the Danish Operation Write Home.

In 2016 I am helping out over on their blog as a maternity cover. I got the idea to create a "Fif Fusion" of some of the card tips, which Cecilie has created for the past years.

This is my fourth "Fif Fusion" for Operation Skriv Hjem.
It went live on their blog July 14th 2016.

Do you ever use the sewing maschine for cards?

Word Prompt "GLOW" - Inkspirational Challenges

Hello crafty people :o)

Come and play along in our new challenge with INKspirational!

Now, it is up to you how to interpret the word. Let us see what you can come up with of awesome creations :o)
Here is my interpretation of the Word Prompt....

I am usually an early bird when it comes to my DT responsibilites but lately life has come in the way. So this card was made in the last minute. At times like this I truly appreciate being a fan of CAS :o)

I chose 3 shades of yellow to create the glow around the star. Here I used the Ink Blending tool to apply the colours.

I was in a bit of a hurry with this card, so I actually forgot to add a sentiment before I adhered the front to the card base with 3D tape. So I had to think creative and my Dymo was my knight in shiny amour, LOL.

I wanted the sentiment to relate to stars and a Danish Christmas song. I went on Google 'cause I couldn't remember the name of the song. Every Christmas Day it is a tradition for Danish kids to watch a special Disney Christmas show in television. I did too as a kid. And there is this introduction song in the beginning of the show....it was just perfect for this card!

In Danish the song begins with "NÄr du ser et stjerneskud, lad dit Þnske flyve ud..."

In English it means something like this "When you see a shooting star, let your wish..." I know it's not the correct translation but I can't remember the exact words.

We have Hannelie Bester joining us as Guest Designer and she is absolutely ĂŒber cool. Do go check out her blog Desert Diva and leave her a sweet message :)

Go visit the other DT girls and leave them some crafty love too...
Go have some fun!

Chevrons and stencils

I just had to make a card when I saw the challenge theme at CAS on Sunday....Chevrons!
It was a perfect opportunity to combine two of my stencils and use some of my fab pigment inks from Avery Elle :o)

I applied the pigment ink with my sponge daubers using the two stencils. First the Aquamarine and then the White.

The sentiment means "Congrats / Happy Birthday" and the die is from kaBoks. If you are interested in the TILLYKKE die, then ask your local scrapbook store to order it for you.

I still am amazed how good coverage the pigment ink from Avery Elle gives - even on this dark Kraft cardstock.

With this card I am participating in:

Have a great day :o)
