Inlaid Die Cutting with Simon Says Stamp

I am a huge fan of the technique Inlaid or Inlayered Die Cutting.

I love how the result is so simple and the smooth surface. The one bit I don't love so much is how time consuming this sometimes can be. But the end result always makes up for it!

Here I have used one of the newer dies from Simon Says Stamp. I just had to have this 'cause I believe it can be used for a great variety of cards - some quick to make and others a bit more time consuming ;)

This card is a project I made for The Paper Crafting. It's an online Scandinavian craft magazine where I am fortunate to be the Creative Editor.
The project was for an "Mother's Day" inspiration article together with the magazines Guest Design Team 2017. You can see the article HERE.

This card can be used for Mother's Day, for a good friend, for anyone who could benefit from being told that "you are awesome" :)

That's all for today,
Pia

A Little Sense of Spring with Altenew

Yes, I know it's just been Christmas but don't we need a little moment of non-Christmas right now!

So today I am sharing a little glimpse of spring, flower colours and butterflies :)

This is a card I created a couple of months ago as DT for Hobbyboden.dk. For Danish blogpost click HERE.

The background is created using the ink blending tool and 4 colours. This way I get an ombre look to my background.

The butterflies is from a layering stamp set, but I have only used two of the layering stamps for each butterfly. I wanted to get a more sketchy look for this card. This is actually a great way to more out of your stamps.

May you all have a fabulous post-Christmas week :)

Creating your own background..

Alright, I had two choices to the headliner for this post.

Either "Communion" (Konfirmation) or actually naming it what it really was about....making your own background with a small stamp. So I chose the later!

This is also my DT card for Norwegian KaBoks, so I am also blogging (in Danish) on their blog today.

The Danish reader might already have noticed the spelling of the text. Reason is, this is actually an Norwegian die. Eventhough the spelling of Norwegian and Danish is very much alike there are differences - and this is one of them ;)

Konfirmasjon (Norwegian) or Konfirmation (Danish) means Communion in English.

I have used a small floral stamp from KaBoks to create my own background pattern.

I have stamped repeatedly using 3 different shades of ink colour. The "Raspberry Jam" in colour is though very difficult to make life-like on photos. The photo below is showing the most life-like colour.

I am a fan of making non-traditional cards. I am just not very good at traditional. This is why I have mixed the rose colours with dark grey cardstock. I am really fond of having contrasts on my project. It makes parts of the project POP more.

Are you also making Communion/Konfirmations cards?

With this card I am also participating in:
Papirlosjen - #4 Konfirmasjon / Ungdom
Kreativ Hobby - April - Konfirmasjon
Kort-O-Mania - #151 Hip Hurra for Konfirmanten

Have fun creating :)
