Positive/Negative Embossing Technique

Just popping in today to share a technique which I have named "Positive/Negative Embossing". And what is that exactly??

Positive/Negative Embossing is when you can use both the front and the backside of a pattern from an embossing folder. This is possible with most of the "old" kinds of embossing folders, but not with the new generation 3D embossing folders. 

I made this project for the Danish online store Hobbyboden.

For the front panel of the card I also used a embossing diffuser. This way I only got a part of the front panel embossed with the pattern. 

On the photo below you can see how the gold piece shows the positive side of the embossing, whereas the white front panel shows the negative side of the embossing. 

As an extra detail I have lined up the patterns on the two pieces of cardstock. 

It is actually a shame that I don't use my embossing folders more often. It is such an easy way to add interest to your cardstock.

Wedding Card with Gold Clustered Leaves

Sometimes I totally forget about cards I have made. This is one of them. I just went through my photos and this one caught my eye :)

I made this card for my German best friend. We know each other from college in Cambridge, UK. She just got married at a small and intimate wedding.

 I just love the leafs die from Simon Says Stamp. Looks absolutely gorgeous in gold.

I have said it before but totally dig the contrast a dymo sentiment gives to a rather girlie & flowery card.

Word Prompt "Glamour" - Inkspirational Challenges

So it is yet again time for a new challenge over at 

Inkspirational Challenges.

This time we have our Word Prompt theme:

"GLAMOUR"

Oh man, did I struggle with this theme! I am not that much of a glamour girl despite the number of evening gowns in my closet. So I decided to go with a wedding card and the touch of gold. 

The sentiment is heat embossed on thin vellum. I prepped the vellum with my powder tool before stamping to remove static. This made sure I had no stray embossing powder grains and got a perfect heat embossed sentiment :)

Go visit the other INK DT girls and leave them some crafty love too...

May You Have A Wonderful Wedding

Before we know it winter is finished, done, finito and then the high season for weddings begins. I have therefore begun to stock up on wedding cards. 

Here is one I have done of Norwegian KaBoks. I am also blogging on their blog today :)

With lovely pastel colours and a twist of gold then you are home safe when it comes to weddings. 

For my card I have combined several dies from KaBoks and one stamp set. The stamp set is actually a Christmas stamp set (one I have Co-Designed) and it consist of several separate words which you can combine as you wish. 

So here I have used some of the words for a wedding sentiment. 

The Danish sentiment says:

I have used one of the dies to create an impression in the design paper. To make this I have used the Inlaid Die-cutting technique. 

After I ran the die through my Big Shot I let the die and micropore tape stay on my design paper. Then I turned over the paper and used my tape runner to add plenty of tape behind the die-cut area. Then I adhered a piece of normal copypaper to the back. This way my Inlaid Die-cut pieces stay put.
