Bit by Bit of Designpaper #6 | VIDEO |Lawn Fawn | My Favorite Things

Today I am sharing another card project I have made for the Danish Operation Write Home - Operation Skriv Hjem. 

If was for a card serie called "Bit by Bit of Designpaper" where I focused on using some of the 12 x 12 designpaper you never get around to use. Perhaps the pattern is too busy, maybe the colours aren't you anymore or perhaps there is only a big image in one of the corners. 

Doing a video on this came around as I was contacted by a follower of Operation Skriv Hjem, who asked if I could give any advice on how to use designpaper with busy patterns or multicoloured patterns. Then I thought it was so much easier to do a video where I could show this. The advice is quite basic but works. I got my advice back in the days from Kristina Werner and it is worth sharing.

Today I am showing you one of these cards and of course also the video. 

It's hard to see on this photo but behind the LOVE there is a heart shaped raised diecut. The next photo shows it better. 

The sentiment and pink heart have been added a layer of Glossy Accents.

The big heart is popped up using 3D squares. Underneath I have let the pink matte show through. 

I have lastly added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal. These are wonderful to work with and you can make any size you want. Just have to remember to let them dry over night.

Easy Simple Cards | VIDEO | Beautiful Flowers 2 | Simon Says Stamp

Do you know the feeling of falling behind all the time? This is what is happening for me at the moment. Back in February and March I had catched up on my blogging and it was going perfectly...untill begining of April. Then we got the news that there was a pup for us! And my blogging time went to almost zero. But I did manage to craft and make cards. Now the situation is a HUGE pile of card projects which needs to be shown on the blog. And our new pup - Nelly - we brought her home end of April. I'll share a pic of her at the end of this blogpost. Enjoy :)

These cards came to life as I wanted to use some old bits of coloured cardstock. And a simple and easy way is to cut lots of strips in different sizes. With these strips you can create your own card backgrounds - either horisontally or diagonally. 

This absolutely gorgeous floral stampset is from Simon Says Stamp and it comes to life eventhough it is kept entirely in black. 

To stamp these cards I used my MISTI stamping tool. I placed the stamp in the middle of the MISTI and by positioning my cardbase in either top or below corner I could get these different placements. 

And I even filmed making these cards. Just haven't had time to edit the video - sorry. But I will see if I can get it done and share it later in another blogpost.

I am a greatly fond of the Clean & Simple style, why I have choosen only to add Black Nuvo Drops as embellishment. 

Below are the four different cards which I have created by positioning my cardbase differently in the MISTI. Super easy and quick stamping. 

As promised here is a pic of our new adorable labrador pup Nelly. Here she is about 9 weeks old. She is full of life and certainly very cheeky when she is awake.

DIY Wreath Builder Tool | VIDEO | Merry Christmas | Avery Elle | Promarker

I simply love this technique. Jennifer McGuire is amazing at giving good tips for cardmaking. So many possibilities using a homemade DIY wreath builder tool to create A6 cards. I have added my video showing how to use the DIY tool. 

Today is - if you haven't noticed - the 24th of the month. That is why I am showing a Christmas card today. I am also over on the Danish Operation Write Home blog today - You can see that post (in Danish) here on Operation Skriv Hjem. 

On this card I have chosen to have the wreath placed off-center. This is something I often love to do. I find it gives more interest to the card.

The stamp set is from Avery Elle and I have coloured the images with Promarker pens. Any colouring medium can be used. You don't need to own Promarkers, you can just as well use colouring pencils, ZIG's or Copics. Whatever makes you happy.
