Mother's Day in Norway

Today Sunday is Mother's Day in Norway
and this is being celebrated in The Paper Crafting Magazine.

I have made this card for the occasion celebrated in the magazine and a little picture tutorial of my DIY stamp in fun foam.

The white leafs are stamped with a DIY stamp made in fun foam. You can go HERE to see my picture tutorial.

The tip of using fun foam for this is not a new trick, but I got reminded of it in the latest class at Online Card Classes. I can highly recommend their online classes.

That will be all for today.

Happy Mother's Day in Norway :o)

Solid stamping combined with Promarkers

Today class is all about Creative Colouring and today we get inspiration from Donna Mikasa. She had used Copics to created flowers on the card base.

When I tried the technique I found out that it didn't work well with Promarkers. So instead I have done something else.

I have used some solid paint splatter stamps for flowers. And coloured the flowers with Promarker to add some dimension and depth. The leaves are also made hand drawn with Promarkers as on Donna's card.

The sentiment is stamped with gold ink - my absolute favorite gold ink. It works wonder each time.

No more from me today.
It is bedtime now and the hubby is also almost done working.
Night, night.

Creative colouring - Vellum & Promarkers

Today is first day of week 2 at the OnlineCardClasses class
Clean & Simple 3.

Today is all about creative colouring. I have chosen to try out the technique shown by Kristina Werner. She used Copics to colour vellum. As I do not own any copics I have used my Promarkers instead.

I actually made two cards, but this one is my favorite..

The feather is a die-cut from Clearly Besotted Stamps. I chose 4 colours to colour the vellum with. 3 grey shades and a light blue for the tip of the feather.

That all I have time for today.

Mothers Day......Sweet Stampin' Challenge

we want you to make a card or project with the theme

"Mothers Day"

Why don't you pop by Sweet Stampin's Blog. We've got plenty of inspiration from the Design Team's Sweet Ladies and we hope you will join us in the fun.

The only thing you have to remember is that your card MUST have stamping on it.

This card I made using the stamp technique called "generation stamping". Basically, it means that I stamp 1. generation, 2nd generation, 3rd generation etc. In other words, I do not re-ink my stamp but continue to stamp with it. This way the colour fades stamp by stamp. Some inks are better at it than others and for my card I have used Hero Arts Shadow Inks. I only stamped 4 times, but I believe I could have gone for a 5th generation stamping.

By first glanze it looks like I have used 4 different ink colours to get this effect. But no! I have only used one!

The rest of the card is kept simple - as I always prefer it :o)
Just added the cute little bow from My Favorite Things and the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps.
