Stencils and paste

We have reached day 3 in class. Today it is about using paste to create texture.
I don't own any paste at ALL!

The teachers suggest using acrylic paint as a substitute, so I tried out this technique using ordinary wall paint. I have a fair bundle of wall paint test colours. So I found one which was rather thick and tried it out.

I made my own stencil this time using a Memory Box die and card stock.

You be the judge of whether it worked out or not for me....

The sentiment is stamped first using a green HA shadow ink and then I heat embossed with white on top - just a little off to create a shadow.

This is how it ended out looking when using thick greenish wall paint. I dried the paint a bit using the heat gun to speed up the process. One thing I learned was not to wait too long to pull off the stencil.

That is it for todays homework at the "Stenciled" class at OnlineCardClasses.com.

  1. Jeg synes, at det er lykkedes dig godt uden Paste. Jeg har heller ikke noget, så jeg har brugt Gesso i stedet ; )
Flot kort og off set stamping.

  2. I rather like the lumps and bumps as they are! Gives a bit more texture. Your card is a beauty once again, Pia!
I do have the Embossing Pastes and I can assure you that I never get mine completely smooth! But I am a fan of Tim Holtz and as he says, I embrace my imperfections!
