Watercolouring & Colour Mist splodging

Today is Bonus Day at Stretch Your Stamps 2 class.
And I was soooo amazed by the simplicity of the technique shown by Debby Hughes.
I just had to try it out and see if my Mr. Huey's mists would work for this.

First I soaked up my watercolouring papir with Distress Ink to create the background.

The adding some extra water to the paper using a brush. I knew where I wanted my butterflies and used that as a guide to apply little dabs of Mr. Huey's mist. I unscrewed the bottles and used the tip to dab on the colour.

After applying the drops of mists colour I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process. Then I could stamp the butterflies and the sentiment.

Well, my dabbing of Mist wasn't exactly perfect, but it certainly adds interest to the card. The paper was more soaked in water when I made the little butterfly compared to the large butterfly.

  7. Gorgeous, Pia!! I don't have mists, so I need to - again - find a way to innovate and adapt with what I have on hand. I'm seriously swooning over your butterflies....
