Time flies...at this moment I am so glad for it!
First up, there's only 8 months till Christmas now and I have no doubt that the rest of the year will pass by in super speed.
Today I am over at the Danish Operation Write Home blog - Operation Skriv Hjem. We, Charlie & me, are continuing the tradition of creating a Christmas card on the 24th of each month and everyone is welcome to join in over at the OSH blog.
For today I have created a super quick and simple Christmas card. I could have just only stamped the holy leafs but I wanted to make it pop more. By using my Inktense pencils I added some berries, interest and shades to the holy leafs. A very quick way to add a little extra.

Yes, I did write "first up", so here comes the second bit and the reason why I have been MIA for a while.
The past two weeks have been awful, nerve wrecking and just plain tough.
We got home from our wonderful & amazing 3 week honeymoon Sunday April 10th to the bad news that my Mother had been rushed to hospital Friday evening. The doctors found a really, really bad bleeding ulcer. They had done their best to patch her up but they still wanted a specialist to look at her 'cause the condition on her stomach was extremely bad.
The following Monday on my first day back at work I got a call in the morning. Mum's ulcer had burst open Sunday evening and the surgeons worked on her for 5 hours to stop the bleeding. It was touch and go to say it mildly. She was put into a respirator afterwards and we all kept our fingers crossed the ulcer wouldn't start bleeding again.
Now, two weeks after the surgery she is recovering and it looks really promising
- Thank God!
- Thank God!
A few days ago she was transferred from hospital to a rehabilitation center. This is wonderful considering the odds we had two weeks ago. No one had any clue she was suffering from an ulcer - and had been for a long, long time. We suspect more than a year :(
These events are the reason why I am for the time being cutting down on my creative responsibilities. I have decided to leave the Kaboks DT, I am taking a couple of months leave on the Inkspirational Challenges DT and I am cutting down on The Paper Crafting for a while as DT deadlines right now are the last thing I need. Focus is on the family and I am free as a bird creatively right now sort of say.
But I will be back again soon some day at full speed ;)

Here you can see how I have added some interest to the holy using pencils.
I rarely pull out my twine box but it just seemed fitting for this card :)
I am a total sucker for the frame dies with cross stitch and plain stitching.
Have you remembered to talk to your Mum and/or Dad lately?
You never know when it's too late.
Pia :)
Super flot julekort!!!
So sorry to hear about your Mom. What a think to happen after your lovely trip. Glad to hear that she's improving...wishing you and her well.
