Scrapbooking Day 2017 Recap - Double Layered Heat Embossing with Clearly Besotted

May 6th was (National) Scrapbooking Day 2017 and I spent the whole day hosting an online cyber crop for The Paper Crafting magazine.

But I wasn't alone, oh no, there were a great turnout for the cyber crop event and I also was so fortunate to have two sweet visitors IRL from the Danish Operation Write Home - Operation Skriv Hjem, who spent the day crafting with me.

For the event I had prepared 3 different challenges for the participants and of course I joined in myself :)

Here is one of the projects I made during the day........

For this project I wanted to do Double Layered Heat Embossing. Basically, it means you put two different patterns/texts on top of each other with heat embossing.

For the first layer I used a diagonal striped background stamp. Here with the green embossing powder. 

Then I used a leafy stamp for the second layer of heat embossing. And a word of advice - I speak from personal experience ;)

When you work with double layer heat embossing then do not put your fingers anywhere on the first layer of heat embossing just after melting the second layer. It will only give you finger prints in your embossing powder as the first layer also gets heated up again!

I had to cover up such a mistake with the butterfly ;)
