Using a Holiday Stamp for a Non-Holiday Card!

The homework for Day 4, week 2, was quite a surprise. This is what it said..............

"Now it is your turn to stretch your holiday products and use them on a non-holiday card. Grab some patterned paper, stamps, stickers—anything—and get creating!"

Oh my, here I really had a tough challenge. Well, easy peasy if you have plenty of holiday stamps....Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day etc. Guess what! I don't!
Not only did I have to use the above homework challenge, but I also had to use this weeks colour combination.

I found my few Christmas stamps and look really hard at them. Thinking, thinking......and thinking. Finally I cracked the nut....LOL.

Here is my Homework card:

The little girl sitting on the present is actually a pixie girl. All I did was masked off the long top of her hat so it looked more like an ordinary hat. Plus the choice of colouring makes a BIG difference. This is how I converted a Christmas stamp into a Birthday stamp.

I rarely colour stamps, but this time I got a chance the use the few Promarkers I own. That was also a good practice. After colouring the Birthday Girl I fuzzy cut her and adhered her to the card base with 3D mounts.

  1. Great job with this one! Love the idea of changing her hat. The doodled lines are a perfect anchor too!
