Homemade stencil, misting and woodgrain background

For the last day in class we were shown the technique layered stamping. But I wanted to see if the white woodgrain pattern would show through mist....and it does!
First I used my woodgrain background stamp and stamped it with white pigment ink on white card stock.
Then I made a stencil with my La La Land tree-die. Here I used the negative die-cut as a stencil.
Here is how the card turned out...

The sentiment is heat embossed in white. I wanted the tree to look a little like an apple- or cherry tree, so I coloured some small clear gems with a Promarker pen.
