His & Hers Class - Day 1

Hi all :o)

I have so much been waiting for this day for the past two weeks! First day of the Online Card Classes "His & Hers", where the focus is how to make both feminine and masculine cards.

I admit that I find it a whole lot easier to make feminine looking cards than masculine - which is why I am taking this class. It is my 4th class with OnlineCardClasses and can only highly recommend it.

Todays homework is to choose one of the three techniques shown in todays class and make two cards - a feminine and masculine. I choose the technique shown by teacher, Kristina Werner, which was to use the same sketch.

The Feminine Card:

Not only is this the same sketch, but I have actually also used some masking technique. Our other teacher, Jennifer McGuire, used a masking technique in todays class.

On the closeup below you can see how I've stamped directly on the card base. So this is also a One-Layer-Card. To get this "sharp" stamping edge I've used Eclipse Masking sheets.

With this "feminine" card I am partipating in the ColorQ Challenge #186 and the Addicted to CAS Challenge with Code Word "Flower".

The Masculine Card:

In todays class our guest teacher, Lisa Spangler, used gold ink for both cards. When I had to come up with an idea to the masculine card, the use of gold ink seemed to be the perfect way to go. And I think it turned out pretty well :o)

The final touch to the card is the old button, which is probably from an old pair of pants. I have a tendency to strip old clothes of all buttons before they end up in the trash.

I wasn't sure how the mix of the coloured patterned paper and the geometric background stamp would work out. But I am pretty satisfied - eventhough I felt like taking a huge chance here ;o)

With this "masculine" card I am participating in SimonSaysStamp's Challenge "Anything Goes".

Gosh, this first day of class has been pretty good. Hope I can squeze in time tomorrow as well after work and tennis training. Wishing there were more than 24 hours in a day ;o) Do you know what I mean?

Thanks for today :o)
