Have to admit I haven't gone through all the videos for todays class yet. Why? Because my eye caught guest teacher, Amber Kemp-Gerstel, card at once. She had made two cards using a technique called Embossed Embossing. I just had to try it out.
I almost regretted my choice when I got started on my card 'cause this technique is not easy - far from. It took me three tries before I got an almost okay result with the Versamark ink and embossing powder. This one really takes practice!
This is how my card turned out....
Again I have made a card with a "flap" close. This was shown on Day 4 by guest teacher Kelly Rasmussen. If you check out my blog post for Day 4, you can get a more detailed description of this kind of card.
The white heart on the left side of the big heart functions as a close-button for the pink heart "flap". The white heart is a homemade chipboard, so it is strong enough to hold the flap down and keep the card closed.
The chipboard heart is made of 4 pieces of heart dies glued together. This technique can be used for all kinds of dies, and gives an awsome results with letters.
The greeting "Listen to..." continues inside the card and here it is made on the computer. This way you can make any greeting or sentiment that you need. On Day 4 Jennifer McGuire showed us how to do this.
With this card I am participating in Simon Says Stamp challenge "Happy Mail..." and
CAS-ual Fridays challenge "Tic Tac Toe" where I have choosen Black&White/Text/Punches&Dies. I have though also included the Emboss + Bling + Square Card.
Addicted to CAS challenge with the code word "Flower". This is aimed at the embossing folder used with the paisley/flower pattern.

I really like those "flap" cards. It's almost like opening a box of chocolate. You never know what you get ;o)
