Stenciled Class - Adding to paste

I have been experimenting today. For my first CARD for todays class I used ordinary thick wall paint. It worked but not perfectly. Reason is that I don't own any paste. Then I started thinking of alternatives....

When redecorating a room you move pictures and furniture around and usually you end up with holes in the wall. These holes you fill up with wall filler! And the texture of this is, I believe, quite similar to paste!

So I made a test and you can see the final result here....

I made my own stencil using the Parker letters from Memory Box and the Holiday Shapes from Simon Says Stamp.

First I used Debby Hughes tip about darkening the edges of the card stock. Then I places my homemade stencil and applied the Wall Filler. I had to be very quick, as Wall Filler is very quick drying. Quickly I added the silver embossing powder.

I really regrettet not having used my powder tool on the card base first because I got quite a lot of silver dust on the card base. Probably because I had been darkening the edges.

The Wall Filler worked wonders when I used the heat gun. It actually expanded a bit and give extra dimension. See the photo below. Tried to get a picture of it.

Running my fingers over the card front is pretty cool. The feel of the dimension and the ruffness of the Wall Filler paste.

With this card I am participating in CAS on Sunday challenge with the theme
Lovely Dovey
and
in CASology challenge with the Cue Card
Contrast.

Most of all I am participating in the Moxie Fab World with the theme
Constellations.

That is all for now! Enjoy your Sunday evening.

Jag har heller ikke noget paste. Min veninde kommer forbi og scrapper på torsdag og har noget med. Men som sagt har jeg brugt Gesso....

  2. Wow, what a cool way to use wall filler (we call it "spackle")...I would have never thought of that! I love it embossed in silver...and I like the stray silver specks, adds to the star quality of the card! Thanks for joining us at CASology!
